A gentleman named Richard Waller was injured in a Sneads Ferry, North Carolina motorcycle accident on Monday afternoon. The accident apparently happened when a man pulled out of a Speedway gas station and into the path of Mr. Waller.
Mr. Waller was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital with injuries including road rash. The motorcycle caught fire and was apparently burned to the pavement.
The driver of the car, a Jacksonville man, was charged with a failure to yield right-of-way.

A gentleman named Steven Benjamin was tragically killed on Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident in Riegelwood, North Carolina. The accident happened on John Riegel Road at around 1:45 pm when a Buick Enclave turned into the path of Mr. Benjamin. The driver of the Buick has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Mr. Benjamin was 60 years old and from Hope Mills, North Carolina.

A gentleman motorcyclist named Joseph Moncalieri was seriously injured last Wednesday when a car apparently turned across his path in Camden County, North Carolina.
The accident happened while Mr. Moncalieri was traveling west on U.S. Highway 158 in the small community of Belcross. Apparently, a car coming in the opposite direction attempted a turn into a driveway and crossed the path of Mr. Moncalieri. As a result, Mr. Moncalieri wsa ejected from his motorcycle. Mr. Moncalieri was taken to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center before being airlifted to Sentara Hospital in Norfolk for additional care.
The driver of the car that turned across Mr. Moncalieri’s path has been cited for failure to yield the right of way.

It is not clear why the driver of the car failed to see Mr. Moncalieri but this type of accident occurs too often on the roadways of North Carolina. Hopefully, Mr. Moncalieri will recover from his serious injuries.

A gentleman named Thomas Martin was tragically killed on Monday evening in a motorcycle accident in Sneads Ferry, North Carolina. According to available reports, a military truck from Camp Lejeune was traveling west on NC Highway 210 when it crossed the center line and hit Mr. Martin as he traveled east on NC 210. Apparently, the military truck was braking for traffic when it began to skid and crossed the center line.
Mr. Martin was 68 years old and resided in Sneads Ferry. The driver of the military truck has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and driving left of center.

A very serious motorcycle accident in Wendell, North Carolina on Saturday has resulted in injuries to multiple motorcycle riders. According to reports, a group of motorcyclists was travelling on U.S. 64 east as part of a charity ride to Goldsboro, NC when a vehicle threw a beach ball into the roadway. As a result, the bikers braked and several wrecked. Seven of the bikers were taken to the hospital with at least one suffering serious injuries.
As of this time, it is not clear where the beach ball came from but it is suspected it may have been in a boat being towed. Hopefully, the State Highway Patrol can identify the source of the ball that caused this serious accident.

A gentleman named William Lucius Harriss was tragically killed on Saturday evening in a Greensboro, North Carolina motorcycle accident.
The accident occurred around 6:45 p.m. when a driver from Tennessee failed to stop at a streetlight at the intersection of West Gate City Boulevard and Guilford County Road and hit Mr. Harriss while Mr. Harriss was riding on his motorcycle. Mr. Harriss, who was 46 years old, died at the accident scene.
The driver of the car has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and a traffic signal violation.

A gentleman named Lance Smith was tragically killed on Saturday afternoon in a Wilmington, North Carolina motorcycle accident. The accident happened on Carolina Beach Road at around 5:30 pm when a Jeep Wrangler attempted a u-turn and crossed the path of Mr. Smith. Apparently, Mr. Smith tried to brake but could not stop before hitting the Jeep. Mr. Smith was transported to the hospital but later passed away due to his injuries.
The driver of the Jeep has been cited for misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

A gentleman named Lacy Lloyd was injured in a recent New Bern, North Carolina moped accident. The accident apparently happened on Monday afternoon when a woman driving a white SUV turned and struck Mr. Lloyd at an intersection on U.S. 70. Mr. Lloyd was transported to Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the SUV was charged with an unsafe movement violation although it is not clear why the driver did not see Mr. Lloyd on his moped.

A motorcyclist named Tyler Maness was killed on Sunday in an accident in Moore County, North Carolina. The accident apparently happened when a pickup truck pulled from a driveway on Cedar Hill Road and there was a head-on collision with Mr. Maness. The accident happened around 5:00 pm. Mr. Maness was declared dead at the scene. He was 25 years old and from Robbins, North Carolina.
There is very little information available about how this accident happened. In most cases, a collision such as this occurs when the driver pulls into the path of the motorcyclist and the accident does not occur in a head-on manner. However, the reports here suggest it was a head-on collision. We expect that significantly more information will be available once the State Highway Patrol completes their investigation.
