A gentlemen named Hugh Johnston was killed on Friday night after he was hit while riding his moped on NC 42 East outside of Wilson, NC.

The vehicle that hit Mr. Johnston fled the scene but police have now arrested two Wilson residents for their role in the accident.  Police were able to track down the car that struck Mr. Johnston based on a bumper that was left at the scene.  Police estimate that the car was traveling 70 mph when it struck Mr. Johnston on the moped.
