A Surf City, NC motorcycle accident has resulted in injuries to at least one person.

The accident happened on Wednesday at the intersection of US 17 and NC 210 in Pender County, NC.  This notoriously busy intersection is not on Topsail Island but on the mainland.  The accident involved a car and a motorcycle and it is not clear who was at fault.  Police are investigating.

Updated information indicates that the driver of the car may have been intoxicated when the accident occurred and that this driver crossed the median and struck the motorcyclist.  Read the updated story.
