A gentleman named Orlando Perez was tragically killed on Friday evening when he was hit by a pickup near Vanceboro, North Carolina. According to available information, Mr. Perez was traveling east on Pactolus Highway on his motorcycle when a man driving a pickup attempted to execute u-turn and crossed the path of Mr. Perez causing the crash.
Mr. Perez was apparently on his way home from work when he was hit. He was 46 years old. The driver of the pickup has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

A gentleman named Isaiah Flowers was tragically killed in a crash Thursday evening in Fayetteville, North Carolina. According to available information, Mr. Flowers was traveling near the intersection of Cliffdale Road and Pritchett Road when a woman traveling west on Cliffdale turned left across his path of travel.
Mr. Flowers died at the scene. He was apparently 20 years old and from Topeka, Kansas. The driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

A gentleman named Timothy Kellam was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on May 27 in Greensboro, North Carolina when a woman failed to yield to him. The crash happened at the intersection of Summit Avenue and Textile Drive around 8:50 pm. According to available information, a woman driving a 2012 Nissan Sentra north on Summit Avenue turned across the path of Mr. Kellam causing the collision.
The driver of the Nissan has been charged for her role in the crash. Mr. Kellam was 33 years old and from Greensboro.

A gentleman named Robert Davis was seriously injured on Monday when he was hit by a car in Shelby, North Carolina. The crash happened on Old Post Road also known as NC Highway 226 at around 2:00 pm. According to available information, a woman driving a Dodge Durango was turning into Bradshaw’s Food Mart and crossed the path of Mr. Davis.
Mr. Davis was airlifted to Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte for treatment of very serious injuries. The driver of the Durango has been charged with a failure to yield.

A gentleman named Lee Hargrove was tragically killed on Sunday evening while riding his moped near Warrenton, North Carolina. According to available information, Mr. Hargrove was traveling east on US Highway 158 bypass near Warrens Plains Road when he was hit from behind by a man driving a car.
Mr. Hargrove, who was 53 years old, was ejected from the moped and died at the scene. The driver of the car initially fled the scene but came back later.
According to available information, police are still investigating the cause of the collision. However, it would seem apparent that the driver of the car should be charged with traffic related crimes for this collision. Additionally, it is not clear whether the driver of the car was distracted in any manner and hopefully the NC State Highway Patrol will be able to determine this through the investigation.

A gentleman named Jeffrey Hill was tragically killed in a motorcycle collision in Lee County on Saturday night.
There is very little information available about this collision at this time except that a driver of a car apparently veered across the center line and hit Mr. Hill. There are charges pending against the driver of the car but there is no indication as to why the driver did not maintain their lane. In a case such as this, we would be very interested to know if the driver of the car was distracted in some way that caused this collision.

A gentleman riding a motorcycle in Gastonia, North Carolina on Friday was seriously injured when he was hit by van. The crash happened as the motorcyclist was traveling east on Garrison Boulevard and the van pulled out of the parking lot of the Burger King restaurant.
The motorcyclist, a 52 year old man, was flown to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment of apparently life-threatening injuries. The van appears to be owned by a local electrical contractor.
Police are still investigating this accident. Although, based on initial reports, it would seem clear that the motorcyclist was not at fault and the van driver failed to yield. If we learn more about the cause of this accident, we will update this post.

A moped rider was seriously injured on Friday morning when hit by a car on N.C. Highway 55 near Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. The crash happened near the intersection of N.C. Highway 55 and Clayton Road. According to available information, the moped rider had apparently stopped to talk to a woman walking along the side of the road. At that time, an SUV crashed into the moped rider. The moped rider was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the SUV claims to have not seen the moped.

A serious collision on Saturday afternoon in Gaston County, North Carolina has resulted in injuries to a motorcyclist. The crash occurred on Alexis-Lucia Road when a pickup truck pulling a boat trailer collided with the motorcyclist. The driver of the pickup was arrested for driving under the influence.

A motorcyclist was critically injured on Friday evening in a crash on U.S. Highway 70 near Princeton, North Carolina. There is very little information available at this time about this crash except that a driver of a pickup truck apparently went through a stop sign and hit the motorcyclist.
