The accident occurred around 10:30 am near Mill Creek Road. According to reports, a woman driving a Ford F250 pickup truck pulled out from Mill Creek Road directly into the path of Mr. Covington. The information available on this accident does not indicate why the driver of the Ford did not see the motorcycle. In some cases such as this, we have found that drivers may be distracted by the use of cell phones or similar devices although there is not any indication of that in this case. Nonetheless, this type of information may be important for an attorney determining the strength of a civil claim for wrongful death.

A gentleman named Andrew Nalbone was killed in a motorcycle accident in Charlotte, NC on Friday night.
The accident happened around 7:30 pm on Moores Chapel Road near the intersection with Kendall Drive. According to reports, a Buick vehicle was attempting a U-Turn and crossed paths with the motorcycle. A passenger on the motorcycle was also seriously injured.
The article on this accident indicates that Mr. Nalbone failed to slow down and suggests that this might be the cause of the accident. This conclusion seems unusual to me and suggests several questions. Mainly, did the motorcycle have sufficient notice that the Buick was preparing for a u-turn? Also, are u-turns allowed at that location? Did the Buick have its turn signal on?

A serious accident on Saturday evening has resulted in serious accidents to a Durham NC motorcyclist.
According to reports, a car traveling near the intersection of Holloway Street and Beasley Avenue struck another car in the rear. That forced the car that was hit in the rear across the center line and directly into the path of a motorcyclist. The person on the motorcycle was seriously injured with multiple broken bones. The police are apparently investigating the accident to determine who may be at fault. Although, it would appear that the drive of the first car certainly should be charged under these circumstances.

Moped accidents in North Carolina can pose unique legal issues. In this case, it would appear from initial reports that the moped rider was traveling legally within a lane of travel when a car failed to pass the moped rider with sufficient space. Unfortunately, we have seen many cases such as this where the car driver claims that the moped swerved into the car’s path and that is what caused the accident. In cases such as that, our lawyers often employ accident reconstruction experts to describe what really happened in the accident.
