A terrible accident on Interstate 40 in western North Carolina has claimed the life of a motorcycle passenger. The accident happened on Wednesday morning in the Pigeon River Gorge in Haywood County, NC. Apparently there was a collision between a three-wheeled motorcycle that was pulling a trailer and a separate car.
It is not clear what caused the accident and the State Highway Patrol is investigating. Based on what we know, the driver of the motorcycle was seriously injured in addition to the passenger suffering fatal injuries.

A gentleman named Alfredo Madrid from Miami, Florida was killed on Tuesday evening in a motorcycle accident in Watauga County, North Carolina. Based on what we know, Mr. Madrid was riding a motorcycle on U.S. 321 with three other motorcyclists when a woman driver crossed the center line and hit the bikers.
As stated, Mr. Madrid was killed in the accident and the other motorcyclists were taken to area hospitals for treatment of injuries. One of the motorcycles was occupied by a husband and wife riding in tandem.
The vehicle that struck the bikers was a 2003 Audi driven by a woman who was apparently impaired. She was also injured and is expected to be arrested following her medical treatment.
The motorcyclists were apparently on a trip from Florida to Michigan when the accident happened.

A gentleman riding a moped in Greensboro N.C. was killed in an accident last Friday night. The accident happened on West Lee Street and involved a Jeep Cherokee.
It is not clear from news reports what caused the accident or who was at fault. The moped rider was transported to Moses Cohn Hospital but did not survive. Police are apparently investigating the accident.

A gentleman named Johnnie Knight Jr. was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday night in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The accident apparently occurred at the intersection of Yadkinville Road and Transou Road. According to reports, Mr. Knight’s motorcycle was struck by a van and Mr. Knight was thrown form his bike into a Honda Civic. Mr. Knight was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital for treatment of his injuries. The Winston-Salem Police Department is still investigating the accident.

A gentleman named Bruce Lewis was riding on his moped Saturday afternoon when he was struck from behind and killed in Edgecombe County, NC.
The tragic accident happened on Highway 258 about 2.8 miles east of Pinetops. According to reports, Mr. Lewis was about to turn into his driveway when he was hit from behind by a pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck was apparently not paying attention and has been charged with a failure to reduce speed and misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Mr. Lewis was 56 years old.

A serious accident involving a car and two motorcycles on Saturday has resulted in injuries to the bikers.
The accident happened on U.S. Highway 17 at the intersection of Pea Landing Road near the community of Ash. It is not clear what happened in the accident and North Carolina State Highway Patrol officers are investigating. The accident happened around 3:30 pm. One the the victims is apparently a male who suffered serious injuries. Both motorcyclists were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach for treatment.

A motorcyclist driving near the intersection of Murchison Road and Shaw Road was killed on Tuesday night in an accident.
There is very little information available about the wreck except that the motorcyclist was traveling east from the direction of Fort Bragg when the accident happened. According to reports, the Fayetteville Police Department was still trying to determine which driver was responsible for the accident.

A gentleman named Frank Hibbs was seriously injured on Sunday following an accident that has initially been attributed to strong winds.
The accident happened on Interstate 29 in Nebraska around 11:40 am. According to reports, Mr. Hibbs was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle and another person was riding a 2008 Harley. The gentleman riding the Harley apparently lost control of his bike due to high winds in the area and laid his bike down in the path of Mr. Hibbs. The resulting accident caused serious injuries to Mr. Hibbs and he was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital. Mr. Hibbs is from Asheboro, NC as is the gentleman who was driving the Harley.

A gentleman named Larry McLean was killed this weekend in an accident in Asheboro, North Carolina.
According to reports, Mr. McLean was riding his motorcycle on U.S. Highway 64 and he was trying to turn left into the Village Plaza when he was hit by a car. The accident happened around 8:00 am. It is not clear from reports whether Mr. McLean was at fault or whether the other driver was at fault. Mr. McLean was taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC for treatment but he did not survive his injuries.

A Wilmington NC motorcyclist apparently suffered injuries following an accident on Tuesday in Wilmington, NC.
The accident apparently happened on the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge sometime during the morning. It is not clear what caused the accident or whether any particular driver was at fault. As a result of the accident, traffic was reduced to one lane over the bridge.
