Matthew Roland Killed in Raleigh NC Motorcycle Accident

A young man named Matthew Roland was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident late Saturday night in Raleigh, North Carolina.  The accident happened on Lead Mine Road at the intersection with Bridgeport Drive. Apparently, Mr. Roland was traveling straight on Lead Mine Road when a car turned into his path.

There is no report on any charges stemming form this accident but the Raleigh Police Department is conducting an investigation of the accident.

Mr. Roland was 23 years old and was from Georgia.

James R. Harman Killed in Lexington NC Motorcycle Accident

A gentleman named James R. Harman was tragically killed on Monday while riding his motorcycle near Lexington, North Carolina.  The accident happened around 2:00 pm as Mr. Harman was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Welcome-Bethesda Road.  According to available information, a driver of a Ford F-250 pickup truck attempted to turn into a driveway and crossed the path of Mr. Harman.  Mr. Harman apparently reacted as best he could by laying his bike down but could not avoid the collision.

The driver of the Ford F-250 has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.  Mr. Harman was 58 years old.

Motorcyclists James Vanhoy and Marie Vanhoy Injured in North Carolina Motorcycle Accident

A husband and wife riding separate Harley-Davidson motorcycles were injured in an accident on Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 52.  According to available information, James Vanhoy and his wife R. Marie Vanhoy were riding on U.S. 52 when a man driving a Honda Civic turned across their path.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Vanhoy suffered injuries and were taken to Carolinas Medical Center for treatment.  There is no indication that the driver of the Honda has been charged in the accident.

Asheville NC Moped Accident Results in Injuries to Rider

A serious accident involving a moped and an SUV on Tuesday has resulted in injuries to the moped driver.

The accident happened when a woman driving an SUV attempted to turn left off of Hendersonville Road onto the Blue Ridge Parkway and hit the moped.  Based on available information, it appears that the SUV driver turned into the path of the moped but that cannot be confirmed at this time.

Motorcyclist Victor Clay Killed in Oxford NC Accident

A gentleman named Victor Clay was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident on Monday evening near Oxford, North Carolina.  The accident happened just after 6:00 pm on NC Highway 158 at the intersection of 158 and Interstate 85. According to available information, Mr. Clay was traveling west on 158 when a woman tried to make a left across his path.

The woman driver has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.  Mr. Clay was 56 years old and was from Oxford, NC.

Jody Payne Killed and Jacquelyn Sullivan Injured in Oak Ridge NC Motorcycle Accident

A gentleman named Jody Payne was tragically killed on Sunday afternoon when the motorcycle he was driving was hit form behind by a pickup truck.  The accident happened on North Carolina Highway 68 and also resulted in injuries to a passenger on the motorcycle named Jacquelyn Sullivan.

According to available information, Mr. Payne had slowed to turn left at the Old Mill at Guilford when he was hit from behind.  The driver of the pickup has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Motorcyclist Killed on Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville NC

A motorcyclist was killed on Thursday morning in an accident on Cliffdale Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

The accident apparently happened when a driver of a Jeep Cherokee crossed the center line of Cliffdale Road and hit the motorcyclist head-on.  There were two people in the Jeep who were unhurt.

At this point it is not clear why the Jeep crossed the centerline and police are still investigating the accident.

Darrell Harwell Killed in Catawba County NC Motorcycle Accident

A gentleman named Darrell Harwell was tragically killed on Tuesday in a motorcycle accident in Catawba County, North Carolina.  The accident apparently happened when a woman ran a red light on North Carolina Highway 10 and hit Mr. Harwell.

Tyieyana Kennedy Injured in Raleigh NC Motorcycle Accident

A young woman named Tyieyana Kennedy was among three people injured in a Raleigh NC motorcycle accident early Saturday morning.  The accident apparently happened when a man driving a Slingshot motorcycle in the southbound lanes of Wake Forest Road turned into the path of a man driving a Toyota Prius causing the crash.  Ms. Kennedy was a passenger on the Slingshot.

The accident happened around 5:30 am near the intersection of New Hope Church Road.

Raleigh Police were still investigating the accident as of this weekend.

Scott Farr and Candee Sommer Killed in Hope Mills, NC Motorcycle Accident

Motorcyclists Scott Farr and Candee Sommer were tragically killed early on Sunday morning in a motorcycle crash in Hope Mills, North Carolina.  The accident happened on Elk Road at around 1:30 am when a westbound driver crossed the centerline and hit Mr. Farr and Ms. Sommer head-on.

The driver of the car that crossed the centerline sustained only minor injuries.  It is not clear why the driver of the car crossed the centerline at this time but charges against this driver are pending.
