A gentleman named Andrew Nalbone was killed in a motorcycle accident in Charlotte, NC on Friday night.

The accident happened around 7:30 pm on Moores Chapel Road near the intersection with Kendall Drive.  According to reports, a Buick vehicle was attempting a U-Turn and crossed paths with the motorcycle.  A passenger on the motorcycle was also seriously injured.

The article on this accident indicates that Mr. Nalbone failed to slow down and suggests that this might be the cause of the accident.  This conclusion seems unusual to me and suggests several questions.  Mainly, did the motorcycle have sufficient notice that the Buick was preparing for a u-turn?  Also, are u-turns allowed at that location?  Did the Buick have its turn signal on?
