This type of wreck is among the most frequent for motorcyclists in North Carolina.  Driver’s simply do not enough attention to motorcycles and serious injuries are often the result.  Hopefully the police will catch the other driver.  In the meantime, the motorcyclist should try to contact his insurance company and any insurance company for any vehicles at his household.  Under North Carolina law, someone injured by a vehicle where the owner or operator cannot be determined must give their own insurance company notice of the wreck with a reasonable time of the wreck.  In cases such as this, the victim’s insurance coverage may be able to provide coverage for the wreck and resulting injuries.
