A gentlemen named Frank Hatfield died as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on U.S. Highway 21 in Huntersville, NC.

The accident happened around noon near the intersection with Northdowns Lane and involved a Honda SUV.  It is not clear from news reports what caused this fatal accident.  We do know that Mr. Hatfield was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte but he did not survive.  Police are apparently still investigating the accident and no charges have been filed as of yet.

The news accounts regarding this accident note that this was the third serious accident involving a motorcycle in Huntersville in the past two weeks and that another serious motorcycle accident happened later that same day.
