This type of motorcycle wreck is unfortunately very common as many car drivers do not pay enough attention to motorcyclists.  In a case such as this, the family of the motorcyclist may have several ways to recover compensation for this terrible loss.  First, there may be coverage called “Medical Payments” coverage which may provide some financial support for funeral expenses.  The family of the motorcyclist should review any insurance policies for any automobiles or motorcycles insured at the residence of the motorcyclist to see if this coverage exists.  Additionally, there may be coverage called Underinsured Motorist insurance on these same policies that might apply to this wreck.  If you or a family member has any questions about what insurance might apply to a North Carolina motorcycle wreck, please don’t hesitate to contact us for a free consultation.
